Activity Organisers Forum
This Forum was set up in February
2008. Its aim is to provide learning and
support network for activity organisers
in care homes. Since its inception it
has attracted AO’s from East, South
and West Wales, and has proven very
successful. We hold our meetings in
Care Homes who able and willing to
host a meeting, thus keeping costs to a
minimum.
Because of the interest shown and the
distances people have to travel.
Inspiration HealthcareTraining
would now like to set up a Forum in
Carmarthen with the current forums
being run in the Swansea, Cardiff,
Newport, Bridgend RCT and Merthyr.
Inspiration Healthcare Training
believes that the stimulation the
service users receives from activities is
every bit as important as the standard
of care they are given. The aim of the
forum is to ‘raise the bar’ in the
provision of activities for service users
in care homes and give them a better
quality of life. In doing so give better
job satisfaction to the AO’s who do a
responsible and sometimes difficult
and demanding job.
The monthly meetings are very
productive with training session,
demonstrations, discussions, problem
solving ideas and much more. Every
meeting someone has a new web site,
idea or activity to share as well as
exchanging telephone numbers. Guest
speakers are always welcomed.
